
Young people are leaving the church and their faith at record numbers. Over one million students walk away from their faith every year when they graduate high school. Tenx10 intends to empower and equip local churches to better disciple their youth through academic research and Holy Spirit lead prayer and strategy.

Tenx10 Youth Ministry Discipleship Cohort
Who
Church youth leaders (paid, vocational, bi-vocational, volunteer) and/or Lead Pastors in the River Conference Free Methodist Churches who want to catalyze their youth ministry for strategic discipleship and growth.
What
An 11 week cohort where River Conference Youth Ministry Leaders will work through the Fuller Tenx10 curriculum in community; praying, strategizing, and implementing what they learn in their local church context.
Tenx10 is a movement to make faith matter more to 10 million young people over the next 10 years in the spirit of John 10:10. We will do this by reimaging what Jesus focused relational discipleship looks like in our own faith communities.

- The Relational Discipleship Inventory – in five minutes identify your ministry strength and growth areas.
- The Relational Discipleship Kickstart – a ten-week journey to reorient your ministry on relational discipleship radically focused on Jesus.
When
Based on participant availability and critical mass, forming a group of five to twelve youth leaders who will meet 30 minutes weekly for 11 weeks (on a zoom call) during the time frame of March-May 2025. Cohort will meet weekly or bi-weekly depending on participant availability.
Expectations
Full participation in the 11 week virtual cohort including 30 minutes of weekly individual prep work, 30 minutes of weekly cohort discussion via zoom, and optional one on one coaching for further ministry applications.

Leader
Rev. Clay Utley has been leading church youth ministries since the 1900’s. He has a wealth of experience in leading regional youth networks and coaching youth pastors. A graduate of Abilene Christian University, he previously served at churches in Tucson, AZ and Washington State. He currently volunteers with youth and kids programs at his local church in San Antonio, TX.
